Logic Fails

No word yet on whether or not Carroll Bryant will accept our challenge, but he took the time to write another long-winded post mostly about things he has already discussed. We swear this guy sounds like a broken record. He thinks we are Jude, Amanda, Gen, Jon, John, and anyone else he can pull out of his magic hat whenever he wakes up in the morning. He's so concerned about us that he hasn't stopped posting about us yet, even though we are a small fry.

We have a few things to share. Let's start by going through his "evidence" that we are Gen, Amanda, Jude, etc. that he has revealed thus far. A new comment on one of his posts states the following:

We are glad that the anonymous commenter pointed out Carroll's lack of logic with the post GenXpose made on their blog. We weren't going to speak up about that particular comment because frankly, they do a damn good job of speaking up for themselves. It was obvious to anyone with a 5th grade level of reading comprehension that GenXpose was referring to their own blog, not the other blog. It was a real stretch to try to connect GenXpose to a blog that hasn't updated since August, 2012.

We were curious what this other blog had said previously about Carroll, so went hunting for it and this is what we found.

http://hippiesbeautyandbooksohmy.blogspot.com/2012/07/important-site-update-review-policy.html

http://hippiesbeautyandbooksohmy.blogspot.com/2012/07/protecting-yourself-from-internet.html

The first link discusses their change in review policy. Many bloggers last year changed their review policy mostly because of Carroll Bryant, so that isn't anything concerning or new.

The second link goes to an informative post about internet safety and it does reference Carroll Bryant. It was posted around the same time that most of the other bloggers were creating posts about him, so again, nothing very surprising. We are going to guess that Carroll thinks we are this blogger because this post mentions using an alias. That's a stretch. A quick Google search will bring up dozens and dozens of pages that suggest using an alias to protect your identity.

Let's recap what Carroll's logic is so far:

- Jude and Carroll had a breakup of some sort, so now every time someone says something about him, Jude must be behind it.

- GenXpose used a screen cap of something that Carroll said and then she referenced her own blog (the one she/he was typing on), but according to Carroll, GenXpose must have been talking about the other blog because that came first. Confused? So are we. We think it's a reading comprehension problem.

-Hippies, Beauty, and Books. Oh My! created a post about internet safety and referenced how important it is to use an alias, so Carroll thinks because we use an alias, we must be Amanda. Or GenXpose. Or Jude. Or...hell, maybe we are all of them.

 - If you disagree with Carroll on his blog he assumes that you must be one of his arch enemies that he has created in his mind. If you agree, he will give you a hug and tell you how nice and sweet you are. Surprise, surprise.

- Mepis is Amanda's husband, Jon, and since he posted on GenXpose's site before, he and Amanda must really be running that blog.

The lack of logic is astounding. It makes our brains hurt. How do you go through life being that clueless? Now the best/most pathetic part about Carroll's whole post is that he compared us to (get ready for it) Hitler. Yes, that Hitler. The one who tried to conquer Europe and killed  approximately 6 million Jews. No comment. It's just too stupid for words. Then, not only does he bring in Hitler, but God, too. His preachy message of "God is watching you!" made us roll our eyes. When a person doesn't have anything left to say, apparently they turn to Hitler and God to back them up. This guy is a bad joke.

*What is your hang up with cats, dude? Did one of them bite you or scratch the hell out of you or what? Don't you know that the internet loves cats? You know about Justin Bieber, but you don't know the Grumpy Cat meme? We feel sorry for you because Grumpy Cat is awesome.

Sales Rankings

What you see above is a screen grab of a recent comment made on Carroll Bryant's blog. Besides the fact that Carroll and his herd of sheep are still naming the wrong people (most likely in a lame attempt to get us to say who we really are), we are called jealous. Let's take a look at Carroll's so-called success so we can see what we are supposed to be jealous of, shall we?

The follow screen grabs are from Novel Rank and they show what Carroll has been able to sell on Amazon, or lack thereof:

As you can see, the last book that was sold on Amazon was Year of the Cat 32 days ago. Three of the four books by Carroll Bryant were last purchased 208-216 days ago.

Success can be a tricky thing to define and it isn't always defined by monetary means. If we were authors, we would hope that we would have some sort of success beyond selling a book, maybe, once a year. We certainly aren't saying that self-published/independent authors cannot have successful sales. Just look at Jessica Sorenson and her books; they are doing wonderfully. However, when your writing has as many problems as Carroll's, it is no surprise that his sales are few and far between.

When you badger bloggers, make an ass out of yourself and conduct yourself in an inappropriate and unprofessional manner, make wild claims about people you perceive as your enemy, name people who do not know you and have not interacted with you, it is no surprise that this author's sales are almost non-existent.

So no, Carroll, none of us here are jealous of you.

Challenge

In our last post we came up with a challenge for Carroll Bryant since he is so big on having evidence and facts to back everything up. In case he doesn't see it, which he will because he obsessively stalks our blog and gives us a ton of hits, we are putting it here.

Challenge:

You claim the bloggers you listed in The List came to you and asked you if they could have books for free in exchange for an honest review and/or interview.

We would like to see screen shots of proof that these interactions took place from every blogger that you listed. If you need a reminder of who you listed, here you go:

You demand evidence from everyone else, so now is your chance to show us proof. Concrete proof. Not emails from Jude speaking for anyone. We want screen shots of interactions with those specific bloggers. Bonus points if you can show where they actually accepted offers.

Can't wait to see it!

*This challenge does not negate the fact that bloggers are not required to review books that are sent to them, regardless if there was a promise made. You as an author should have known this and acted in a professional manner.

Eating Your Own Words

Don't you hate it when you forget all of the lies you have told people? It can be difficult to keep everything straight when a situation has been occurring for almost a year.

Today on Carroll Bryant's Looking Glass Blog, he practically begged us to post evidence of our claims that he never sent books out to the list of bloggers he tried to name and shame over the summer last year.

We get it, Carroll. Back when all of this began, it must have been so hard to keep your stories straight when you were spamming every blog that made commentary of your behavior. So here is an interesting comment made by Carroll on The Runaway Pen's post, The Strange Case of Carroll Bryant:

We don't know how much clearer you could have made it, Carroll. You didn't send out books to these bloggers. Let's not forget that most of the bloggers you named never even heard of you before you made The List. We also fully realize your head is going to spin around three times after seeing this and we are just going to count the minutes until your next novella full of excuses rolls onto your blog. We guess it is possible, but not likely, that you did send them your book, which brings us to our next point.

When reviewers/bloggers request books for review from publishers and the publishers send them a book, the publishers know there is a chance that the book will not be reviewed. Instead of making an immature list of bloggers that break their "promise" of reviewing the title, they just don't send them any more books. We are sure that in-house, the publishers may have a private list of people who do this sort of thing, but it is unprofessional and bad for business to name those people outside of their circle. We hope you see where we are going with this.

We also think it is incredibly immature to post a list of bloggers who supposedly declined to review  your books or interview you because of one person, Jude. That's some middle-school drama-llama stupidity. For someone who is heading toward 50 years old, you should know better. Vindictiveness is an ugly color and you don't wear it well, Carroll.

As for not accepting a comment on our blog, we are not going to post comments by people who are so childish that they have to make claims or question a persons marriage and sex life. Your readers have plenty of space to act like a 12 year old school girl; especially when the comment refers to people who we do not know and are not part of this blog. We guess that is the way your readership behaves, full of people whose insults are like this:

We guess like-minded people do find each other. What else can we say? Misery loves company.

EDIT- For the Carroll/troll that keeps coming here and leaving comments. Yes, we do realize that he claims he sent books, even though his first sentence states he never sends books. Our main point here was to show that the specific bloggers he named never got books from him. None of the bloggers he named even knew he was. It's kind of hard to send books to people you never met or heard of before. We would like to see screen shots of Carroll emailing these bloggers about his books and them agreeing to review and or interview, and posts of his interactions with him. That would prove that Carroll did indeed have a deal with these bloggers.

We won't hold our breath.

It's Only as Big as You Make it

That's our stats.

That is who is watching this site. In the blogging world, we are a small fry.

But yeah. Keep on visiting, Carroll.

Edit- If you are coming here just to leave comments about people who are not part of this blog, don't bother. Tee-hee! (Who says that, really?) It's entertaining watching Carroll fist-bump in his supposed success, but we are laughing because we know how wrong he is. Reference to our post below.

Look at You, Man.

The morning after the crazy that erupted last night over in the World of Douchcanoe, Carroll Bryant makes another scathing post about how we (everyone outside of him and his various personalities) are all just big, bad bullies out to sap him of his happiness. Or something like that.

Dude, we don't know how many different ways we can say this to you, but we will try one more time.

None of the people you have named own or operate this blog.

We have never interacted with you on your sites on a personal level.

We have not rated or reviewed your books.

We do not give out personal information about you that cannot be found elsewhere, ie. public information.

We only post things that come from your fingertips and make commentary about it. If you weren't making such an ass out of yourself, we wouldn't have anything to talk about. Suck on that for a while.

Your creation of three new blogs about people who have nothing to do with our site is indeed fuckery and nothing like what we are doing here. We don't make bogus claims about you cheating on a spouse or someone having an abortion. We would never do that. Why? Because it is vile. You are heading into illegal territory and their are screenshots abound.

Threats against us will not work.

Remember, you were the one who thought it was a good idea to start your own blog, and now three more blogs, about whomever you perceive to be your enemy when you wake up in the morning, regardless of their innocence or not. Like you said, don't dish things out that you can't handle.

We suggest you relax and enjoy your California vacation. Take some time for deep reflection on your actions and how you really want to proceed.

Peace.

Off the Deep End

We don't even know where to begin with this latest fuckery. Carroll Bryant created three new blogs:

http://amandawellingisgenx.blogspot.com/
http://judehendersoniselsa.blogspot.com/
http://johngreenisapervertedbully.blogspot.com/

Don't bother looking for them, they are no longer active. It only took a short while for Carroll to realize that this is indeed the internet. Unfortunately for him, we have screen shots:

Do we need to say more?

You thought this was a good idea, Carroll?

What was it that we were saying about your self-control the other day? It's lacking again.

These blogs crossed the line. Those posts are inexcusable. You are a vile and horrid person and we hope you are ashamed of yourself.

Edit- As of 12: 42 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25th 2013, the blogs are back online and currently set to private. We will update this if anything changes.

Edit 2- Under Carroll Bryant's Coming Attractions tab we found the following message.

The nuts just got nuttier. We don't know how he justifies his behavior. We guess this is what happens when he is confronted with everything he has done and everyone he has wronged. Your shit doesn't smell so good, does it Carroll?

He Loves Us!

Well, it seems as if Carroll Bryant has found our blog. He even wrote an excruciatingly long post all about us. We feel so special. Of course, he is patting himself on the back and reacted in a true narcissistic fashion.

Sorry to disappoint you, Carroll. You are not a force to be reckoned with. Let us be clear. This blog isn't for you. This blog is for the people who do not want to suffer and snore through your exceedingly boring and rambling posts. If there is anyone who knows how to spin a story, it is Carroll, as much as he likes to point his grubby fingers in our direction.

By the way Carroll, you do not need to write a novella in order to get your point across. Simplicity is a good thing.

Back to his post. We slogged through the mess and we would like to make a few comments:

1.) Carroll insinuates that we could possibly be Jude Henderson, GenXpose, John Green and Amanda Welling. How he came to this conclusion is unknown. He doesn't provide any proof that he demands of others who lay claims against him. He might of put a bunch of names in a hat and pulled out a few for all we know. There is no logical explanation, so don't expect one.

For the record, we are none of these people. We are not part of the Badly Behaved Authors group on Goodreads. We do not currently run any other blogs, Facebook, or Twitter accounts, although we may have in the past. What Carroll doesn't seem to comprehend is that he has irritated many people with his awful displays of stupidity and inflated sense of self-worth. Of course, we mentioned this in our posts before. Any time that someone ticks Carroll off, he lumps everyone together. If one person steals from your store, do you ban all customers? If a friend steals from you, do you ban all of your friends from coming into your house? The logic doesn't make sense.

2.) We can't blame Jude for using an alias. In fact, it is recommended. Carroll Bryant is the perfect example why everyone should consider protecting their identity. Who would want someone like Carroll knowing their name, date of birth, place of residence, etc? We keep our identities secret to protect ourselves from him and others like him. There is nothing wrong with that.

3.) If posting a picture of cat makes you unprofessional and immature. surely, posting a picture of Justin Bieber makes you the same, if not worse. How old are you, again? That's right. You've lied about that so many times, as well.

4.) John Green was talking with a PORN STAR about sexual play. We think a porn star would be comfortable talking about that sort of thing since, you know, she's a porn star.

5.) The words you use have meaning. For instance, in the interview question Carroll states, "But ever since I was about 14 years old, I always thought about going into the adult film business." Carroll did not say, "When I was 14 years old, I thought about going into the adult film business." See the difference? We hope so. It's not about lacking a sense of humor. We just do not find it funny. We also don't think that stealing a model's photo is funny and passing it off as your own is funny.

6.) We do believe that Carroll has socks and no, not the kind you put on your feet. Carroll still clambers around Goodreads and we believe he has at least one open account there even though he claims he has no interest in regaining his banned account. We know that he has had at least one account he wasn't supposed to have and we don't believe for a second that he actually deleted it.

7.) Carroll Bryant isn't allowed to post here for one reason. He has his own space where he can post. In fact, he has a handful of blogs where he can post whatever he wants to post. It's nothing hypocritical. All we are saying is that he doesn't need to do it here. Maybe if he doesn't like our rules, he should talk to STGRB? They have very similar rules. Pot calls the kettle black, wouldn't you say?

8.)  Carroll not only lacks self-control, he also lacks reading comprehension. In our last post, we listed common traits of narcissists. We never said all apply to Carroll. He seems to think we did. It's okay. Nobody is perfect.

9.) Lastly, Carroll might want to remember why everyone started speaking up about him in the first place. Is it amnesia? Old age setting in? Denial? With 100% certainty, Carroll did something very wrong that led to bloggers and readers all over the globe pissed off. Just check out his history in our menu bar. And yes, Carroll, that is your history. We are sorry you won't own it, but it is yours.

*This is the longest post you will ever see on our site. Well, hopefully. It's a semi-promise.

Self-Control is Lacking

Have you ever become so angry at something that you lash out without thinking things through? We think, to some degree, all of us are guilty. People say things that they don't really mean and do things all of the time that, had we a clear mind, wouldn't say or do normally. That's life. We learn from our mistakes and we move on. Usually the lesson to be learned is self-control and awareness.

Carroll Bryant has no sense of self-control.

His new post is a perfect example of lacking self-control. He stumbled across a post written by Dustin Kurtz of Melville House that talks about the recent actions Goodreads has taken to limit what its younger viewers are witnessing or witnessed. In particular, the article talks about the recent actions to swipe sexual role-play from its forums. Carroll Bryant wasn't the first author who talked about these groups on Goodreads that participated in those kinds of activities and we can't say for sure that Goodreads updated their policy because of him. The timing is suspicious, we will give him that much.

Regardless, Carroll seems to think that he should gain some kind of recognition for bringing these issues into the light, so to speak. Honestly, we didn't see much (if any) concrete evidence that actual children were participating in these sexual role-play groups, but anyone can lie about their age anywhere on-line.Without some kind of safety net, we believe that Goodreads took the appropriate action by limiting what these groups can do on their site.

We have known many different kinds of heroes. The real heroes don't ask for recognition. A firefighter will run into a burning building and save your family without asking for a cookie. A police officer will come to your home without requiring you to praise him. A decent human being won't rant online about not getting the credit he feels he deserves for a cause he states is so important to him.

Carroll Bryant is not a hero and nobody owes him anything.

Dustin Kurtz certainly doesn't owe him a damn thing. Goodreads doesn't owe him a damn thing, especially after being dissed by Carroll after Patrick tried to extend an olive branch.

As time goes on and all of this drama continues in the book world, we've come to notice something about Carroll, certain traits he showcases more often than not. Do any of these seem familiar to you?

-An obvious self-focus in interpersonal exchanges
-Problems in sustaining satisfying relationships
-A lack of psychological awareness
-Difficulty with empathy
-Problems distinguishing the self from others
-Hypersensitivity to any insults or imagined insults
-Vulnerability to shame rather than guilt
-Flattery towards people who admire and affirm them
-Detesting those who do not admire them
-Using other people without considering the cost of doing so
-Pretending to be more important than they really are bragging (subtly but persistently) and exaggerating their achievements
-Claiming to be an "expert" at many things Inability to view the world from the perspective of other people Denial of remorse and gratitude

(Source: Wikipedia)

These are all normal traits of narcissism. Ding! Ding! Ding! Carroll Bryant is a narcissist. Coupled with his self-proclaimed Bi-Polar Disorder (which he seems to take no medication for), these two parts of who he is can explain a lot of his behavior. We aren't going to make excuses for how he behaves. How he treats people and how he handles himself online is wrong and we don't believe he has ever apologized once for anything. He has no accountability and no self-restraint.

We stand by the article Dustin wrote this week and the article that The Rex Files wrote about Carroll late last year. Both are linked here in case you want to view them.

Update to Our Last Post

A site visitor left us an interested comment earlier today that we went to check out. It pertains to an interview with Carrol Bryant and...here, we will just show you:

The hypocrisy never gets old from this one. Not only did he blast John Green for his extracurricular activities, but Carroll himself has entertained the idea of being a porn star. Not only that, but check out the photo on the right. Yes, that is the photo Carroll stole from a model without his permission and tried to pass off as himself.

Sorry hun, but no female wants to flick their cherry while staring at your real self. Leave the porn stars to the lookers, which you certainly are not.

Speaking of hilarity, a new anon comment on Carroll's post appeared. I wonder what this anon would have to say about Carroll's fantasies? Hmm.

Well anon, we know who else comes across as a dirty old sleazy git. We also have to wonder why this commenter doesn't think it is the parents job to censor what their children are doing on the internet?

Carroll Bryant Goes After John Green

We were highly considering calling this post Carroll Bryant becomes an Old Church Lady, but we will get to that more in a minute.

Once again, we have Carroll ranting all over his page, this time on his newest blog The Looking Glass of Carroll Bryant, about John Green and the blogger, GenX. He starts his wankfest by posting this:

"So, I’m hanging on the net and stumble across this. It’s an irresponsible article by John Green. Understand, I don’t know John Green. I can’t recall having ever talked to him before. That’s not to say that we didn’t, but I can’t seem to recall it. (Just covering my ass here. As I reported in “Genxpose Part One”, these people seem to think that if they leave a comment for you on your blog or something, it means that “you know each other.”) Anyway, he has decided to get into the fray without any provocation from me. (Funny how these bullies love writing about me.)"

Funny Carroll, you seem to love talking about these "bullies" as well. You see, we really hate the double standard with this guy. If you post about him, that isn't okay, but he seems to think he can say whatever he likes about other people with no consequence.

Here is another common issue we have with Carroll:

He has the bad habit of putting everyone in the same basket. For him, anyone who makes a negative, contradictory statement about him or one of his books, is a bully. And don't you know? All bullies are the exact same. We have seen this from Carroll time and time again. If one person posts or says something about him, he holds every person who ever opened their mouth about him accountable too.

Take the young girl, Jude, who had the bloody misfortune of being Carroll's first victim in this whole mess. A year later, he is still talking about her even though she hasn't said a word to him and he continues to drag her name through the mud on his new blog. Hell, he even has her slated on his calender.

Another example of this is how he still talks about the people who called him a pedophile. Out of the many, many people who disagree with Carroll and the things that he does, a small amount in the very beginning left mean comments on Carroll's regular blog, probably out of frustration. Instead of letting this fade into the background, he continues to talk about it. In fact, he talks about it more than anyone else does and he tends to put blame on everyone for what was said about him.

Now, we want to make it clear here and now. We do not, let us repeat, do not believe he is a pedophile. There simply is not enough evidence for that. What we do believe is that Carroll is attracted to younger women and younger women are more easily influenced. We can't imagine an older more mature and wise woman wanting to be with someone like Carroll. Who would even consider dating him after reading though his blog and seeing how he still obsesses over Jude is beyond... well, whatever. We digress.

Back to this latest post.

Somehow, this article by Carroll turns into an article more about GenX than John Green. We aren't going to dive into what he says about GenX because, frankly, he doesn't say anything new about her and he is just baiting her for more attention. This whole article of him was quite boring and mild compared to others he has written, but what had us laughing our asses off was this:

This most "offensive" thing he could come up with against John Green was to provide a screenshot of John talking on Twitter with a porn star about oral sex. This conversation might seem familiar as it was showcased over on the Mothership, STGRB, some time ago before they lost their first server.

And to that, all we have to say is, "Is Carroll Bryant actually a little old church lady?"

"Oh my goodness me! Someone is talking about doing the dirty in his own space with a consenting adult. Lordy, what ever shall I do?"

Has anyone watched the movie Pleasantville? If you have, you will understand our reference.  Sorry to break it to you, Carroll! Most adults engage in sexual activity and are completely okay talking about it with other adults. It isn't scandalous and it isn't news. People fuck. Get over it. Maybe he is just bitter because he isn't getting any action at the moment.

Regardless, John, if you ever read this, we congratulate you on being so...giving...with the ladies. I'm sure they appreciate it!

One more thing before we close out this post and call it a good day. Most likely we will address this more in the future, but we just wanted to point this out quick and give you food for thought.

Carroll likes to call people stalkers, yet he goes around to people's Goodreads, Twitter, and blogs to find screenshots of conversations that have nothing at all to do with him (like the cap of John's conversation on Twitter).

Take what you want from that and skip over his latest post. Nothing interesting to see there, folks!

Welcome!

Welcome, internet people. Most likely you have stumbled across our blog after Googling the name Carroll Bryant. Or maybe you just randomly stumbled here.

Either way, we encourage you to please check out our tabs above for more information about our site and what our purpose is and will be.

In a nutshell, this is our way of venting and pushing back at the drama that has surrounded a portion of the book loving community for quite some time. Many of us have been feeling like the Grumpy Cat and it is time for us to change that.

This site will include our opinions on new issues that occur and we want to let (almost) everyone chime in with their own thoughts. This, of course, excludes one particular person. Carroll Bryant is not allowed to comment here. He has his own space to vent his frustrations. For more about our site, again, please visit our tabs.

Our site is a work in progress. New rules may be added as we see fit and the need arises. We may not be posting on a daily or even weekly basis. In fact, we hope not to post (honestly!), because if we are posting a lot, then more drama is occurring over in CB's world of blogs.

We would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. If something is bothering you, please feel free to contact us. You can find our email address on our sidebar. Hateful and nasty messages will bring Karma to the sender and may not warrant a response.
